Kidscreen’s annual Hot50, which profiles and ranks the kids entertainment industry’s top companies operating in five categories, is now open for submissions.
Applicants have until Friday, August 9 to submit their company’s most outstanding accomplishments from the last year through the Hot50 online form. Submissions can be made in multiple categories—spanning broadcasting, production, distribution, licensing and digital media—and there is no cost to enter. In October, Kidscreen’s registered subscribers will have a chance to vote in each category to determine 2019′s official rankings.
Last year, YouTube Kids snagged the top spot in digital media for the third-consecutive year, and Netflix was also a returning champ, owning number one in the broadcast category for the fifth year in a row. 9 Story’s Brown Bag Films was victorious for a second year running in the production category; 9 Story Distribution was number one in distribution, besting previous winner CAKE; and Spin Master stole the top licensing spot away from four-time winner LEGO.
Companies that make it into this year’s Hot50 will be profiled in a special digital issue launching in December, as well as a print insert distributed with 2,000 copies of Kidscreen‘s February/March issue at Kidscreen Summit 2020. Winners will receive a commemorative trophy at the Summit’s Kidscreen Awards ceremony, as well as a showcase on Kidscreen’s dedicated Hot50 microsite.
Think you’re hot enough to make this year’s list? Now’s your chance to throw your hat into the ring.
