French entertainment and gaming company Ankama has tapped former GO-N exec Marie Conge as its new head of global distribution. Conge will lead international sales and acquisition strategies in the role, as well as overseeing distribution for animated movies and series developed in-house.

With more than 15 years of kids and family biz experience under her belt, Conge joins Ankama from GO-N Productions, where she introduced preschool series Simon to the global market as head of sales and business development. This 52 x five-minute co-pro with France Télévisions had its third season commissioned earlier this year before season two was even completed. It has also been picked up by a variety of international broadcasters, including Netflix, NHK (Japan), Disney Junior LatAm, Clan-RTVE (Spain), Channel 5 Milkshake! (UK), NRK (Norway) and Dkids (MENA).

Prior to her stint at GO-N, Conge served as VP of sales, acquisitions and new media at Cyber Group Studios, and as SVP of international distribution and consumer products at Moonscoop, where she worked on properties such as Geronimo Stilton, SamSam and Code Lyoko.

Ankama is best known for its multiplayer online role-play games, as well as animated series like Wakfu. This fantasy-adventure offering is based on a same-name video game, and was picked up by Netflix in 2014.
