London-based distributor Media I.M. has licensed the animated series Flying Animals and its preschool spin-off Kids and Flying Animals to New York-based on-demand distributor Janson Media.  The pan-territory deal saw Janson acquire exclusive AVOD, SVOD and TVOD rights for the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, India, Australia and New Zealand.

Produced in Russian, Janson will dub Flying Animals (44 x six and a half minutes) and its spin-off (56 x two minutes) in English. Both shows were previously dubbed in Portuguese and Mandarin after broadcast deals with RTP (Portugal) and Sino Media (Mainland China).

Aimed at kids six to nine, Flying Animals focuses on a group of musical animals who earn wings by trying to change their lives for the better. Developed by St. Petersburg-based animation studio DA, the series airs in Russia on kidsnets including Carousel and Moolt.

Media I.M. first signed on to represent the IPs in 2015, and it partnered with UK-based charity Hope For Children to distribute profits from the series to the charity’s initiatives.

In other Media I.M. news, the company has inked a raft of deals for the popular animated series Sunny Bunnies (140 x three and a half minutes). The distributor closed a three-year DVD deal with Abbey Home Media Group for the UK and Ireland, which will release the first DVD featuring the characters in September.

Produced by Belarus-based Digital Light Studio, the series is a non-dialogue animated comedy for kids three to six about fluffy balls of light that can appear anywhere. The glowing bunnies recently signed a plush toy deal with Posh Paws for Europe; and as part of a deal with Redan Publishing, they will appear in a series of UK educational magazines. Sunny Bunnies is broadcast in more than 160 territories including Disney Channel (US), Disney Junior (US & EMEA), Discovery Kids India, TF1 (France), DHX Television (Canada) and 9Go! (Australia).
