Nickelodeon has hired Eryk Casemiro as its new SVP of preschool.
Officially starting in the role yesterday, Casemiro will lead the network’s production and development of preschool properties across all formats and platforms, including digital, TV and film. He will also have oversight of the preschool executives in charge. Based at Nickelodeon’s Burbank headquarters, Casemiro is reporting to the kidcaster’s EVP of animation Ramsey Naito.
It’s not his first brush with the kidcaster: Casemiro served as producer on the original Rugrats Nickelodeon series and he was working with it again as an EP on the upcoming reboot of the legacy brand.
As the former CCO at Paris-based prodco Zodiak Kids, Casemiro has produced many animated children’s shows, including Kody Kapow for Universal Kids, Lilybuds for France Televisions and Discovery Kids LatAm, and Magiki for Italian kidcasters DeA Kids and Planeta.
Prior to working at Zodiak, Casemiro was an EP at LA-based prodco Klasky-Csupo, where he led development and production on a collection of Nick’s animated shows during the early 2000s, includin The Wild Thornberrys (91 x 23 minutes), Rocket Power (122 x 24 minutes) and As Told by Ginger (60 x 24 minutes). Casemiro also expanded these IPs to the silver screen when he led the development and production of Paramount Pictures’ feature films Rugrats Go Wild, The Wild Thornberrys Movie and The Rugrats Movie.
The kidcaster also made a big hire on the marketing side, bringing on former chief marketing officer of Spotify-owned digital media prodco Gimlet, Jenny Wall, as the new Nickelodeon CMO. Wall is responsible for all on and off-air consumer marketing, brand creative and content launches across all kidcaster’s platforms, including Nicktoons, TeenNick, Nick at Nite and Noggin. Based in New York, Wall will report to Nickelodeon’s president Brian Robbins.
Before joining Gimlet, Wall held various executive marketing positions in the last two decades, including Netflix, Hulu, HBO and BLT Communications.
