After two decades working for Brazilian media conglom Globo Group, most recently leading content, development and programming for kids, Paula Taborda dos Guaranys has stepped down.

“I finish today a 24 year tenure at Globo Group with pride and gratitude,” Taborda wrote in an email to colleagues yesterday. “The last eight years I had the privilege to build with a beloved team two channels, Gloob and Gloobinho. It has been an amazing journey, full of challenges and accomplishments. I feel so lucky to have worked with so many of you. I would like to thank you all for your support and friendship along this path.”

Prior to taking over as head of content for kids, Taborda dos Guaranys work at various divisions within the broader Globo Group, including programming on comedy, sports and music channels. She previously worked for Globo subsidiary Canal Futura, a paid educational channel, leading international relation in the late ’90s to early aughts. She also served as a senior product developer at Globo TV, and did a stint at RioFilme.

Gloob’s director, Tatiana Costa, will evaluate the team’s structure and decide on the next steps for the channel, according to a Gloob spokesperson, who also confirmed Taborda’s departure.

Taborda has not yet responded to requests for comment.

Globo Group’s kid’s channels are part of the company’s Globosat network and have played a prominent role in the global kids entertainment business while Taborda’s was with the conglom. This past September, Gloob partnered with LA studio ZAG and Paris-based Method Animation to co-produce the fourth and fifth seasons of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. Gloob also just signed a broadcast deal last week with Toronto-based Guru Studio for two seasons of the animated series True and the Rainbow Kingdom. Gloob is also known for co-producing the Emmy-nominated series SOS Fada Manu (65 x 11-minutes) with Brazilian prodcos Boutique Filmes and Lightstar Studios. And at the beginning of this year, Gloobhino joined Spanish producer/distributor Motion Pictures as a co-pro partner on its animated preschool series MyaGo.
