Paris-based Superprod Animation has brought on Jean-Pierre Morillon as its new head of story to lead development for its animated TV series.

He has story edited numerous animated shows, including Xilam’s Lucky Luke; Casper’s Scare School for Moonscoop; Maya the Bee for Studio 100/m4e and most recently Monchhichi at Technicolor Animation. Morillon also served as a creative manager for the long-running Oggy and the Cockroaches at Xilam.

At Superprod, he will work across the studio’s slate, which currently includes adaptations of large IPs such as That’s Joey (based on the bestselling comic books), Octopus’s Garden (by Ringo Star), and Kid Paddle (based on a video game and comic book property). Morillon will also lead some of Superprod’s original creations, such as Osmond and My Spooky Family. He started last month and will be reporting to Clement Calvet and Jeremie Fajner.

Beyond its original efforts, the studio is busy right now handling the production for Kuku Studio’s Go! Go! Cory Carson, which is set to premiere on Netflix next month, and Blue Zoo/Studio Canal’s new animated Paddington TV series for Nickelodeon.
