Following Viacom’s merger with CBS, the newly minted ViacomCBS is reorganizing a number of personnel and divisions, including promoting Jules Borkent (pictured) to EVP of ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI) kids & family.
Formerly the EVP of content and network strategy, Borkent reports to the president & CEO of VCNI David Lynn and Brian Robbins, president of kids & family entertainment at ViacomCBS domestic media networks. Borkent has been with Nickelodeon since 2001 and since then had led channel operations and content strategy (including programming, acquisitions, originals and digital) for Nickelodeon International throughout his tenure. In this new role, he will work closely with Nickelodeon US on an international programming council and managing a multi-million-dollar content investment across kids and family programming.
Borkent’s promotion is part of the overall shift at ViacomCBS, which is splitting its international networks into two brand groups and three pan-regional groups. All of these groups will report to Lynn. Kerry Taylor, meanwhile, has been promoted from EVP of MTV International and CMO for VCNI to EVP of VCNI entertainment & youth brands, under ViacomCBS domestic media networks.
Former president of international for ITV Studios Maria Kyriacou joins ViacomCBS on February 3 as the president of ViacomCBS Networks UK & Australia (which includes Ireland, New Zealand and Israel).
Raffaele Annecchino is now the president of ViacomCBS Networks Europe, Middle East, Africa & Asia, and JC Acosta has been upped to president of ViacomCBS Networks Americas (overseeing LatAm including Argentina, Brazil and Mexico).
Together, Borkent and Acosta are taking over for Pierluigi Gazzolo, former president of VCNI America and EVP of Nickelodeon international Gazzolo now serves as president of studios and OTT for ViacomCBS Networks international.
