Miami-based video-calling and reading app Caribu has signed a deal with Kids2 to license a catalogue of its Baby Einstein brand books. The deal includes more than 30 new books and several available exclusively to Caribu users today.

Caribu integrates children’s pictures books and coloring sheets into an interactive video-calling app to improve long-distance communications between families. Targeted at kids zero to seven and their families, it’s available on the Apple and Google Play stores. The app has previously licensed titles from Mattel’s HIT Entertainment such as Thomas & Friends, Angelina Ballerina and Mike the Knight.

Baby Einstein’s line of multimedia products (such as direct-to-video programming, books, flashcards and toys) for infants and toddlers first launched in 1996. It was sold to Disney in 2001 before Kids2 took it over in 2013, rebranding it in 2018.
