Sony Pictures has partnered with footwear maker Hunter on a collection of boots and accessories for its upcoming film Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway (pictured).
Hunter is launching rabbit-themed boots, backpacks and a keychain featuring Peter, which are set to be available globally in stores and online starting March 17.
Sony delayed the new film’s release earlier this week due to concern around the COVID-19 outbreak. Originally scheduled for March 27 in the UK, and in the US the week after, the family friendly feature is now set to premiere August 7. The first Peter Rabbit film grossed US$351 million against a US$50-million budget, according to Box Office Mojo.
Sinking Ship
Toronto-based prodco Sinking Ship Entertainment is turning a page by inking a book deal with Miami-based Mango Publishing to launch the Dino Dana: Dino Field Guide, based on the show.
Set to launch globally in May, the book is written by Sinking Ship’s executive producers J.J. Johnson, Christin Simms and the prodco’s head of research Colleen Russo Johnson. Featuring scientific facts about dinosaurs, as well as illustrations, the book is based on the show about a 10-year-old girl who loves dinosaurs and encounters them in her daily life.
Sinking Ship’s mixed-media series (52 x 22 minutes) airs worldwide in ABC (Australia), CITV (UK), Nat Geo (LatAm and MENA). The brand’s theatrical film Dino Dana The Movie is premiering March 21 in North America, with a longer museum window starting in June.
Animaccord
Russian prodco Animaccord has sent its popular preschool toon Masha and the Bear to linear TV in China for the first time. Chinese state-owned network CCTV picked up seasons one and two (52 x seven minutes) following the show’s debut in the country earlier this year via Chinese short video platform Xigua Video.
The animated series about an energetic young girl and the adventures she has with her bear friend is one of the most in-demand kids shows in the world, according to Parrot Analytics.

German producer Your Family Entertainment (YFE) has teamed up with Ghana-based consultant firm Silver Rock to launch YFE’s 24/7 pay TV kids channel Fixi&Foxi via telecom MTN Ghana.
Hosted by Silver Rock’s TV Anywhere OTT, platform the kids and family channel, which features 3,500 hours of animation and live-action shows, is now available to MTN Ghana customers.
