March 13, 2020

Licensing Expo 2020 has been rescheduled to August 11 to 13 in response to ongoing concerns about COVID-19. The annual event was scheduled to take place from May 19 to 21 in Las Vegas and is the world’s largest licensing trade show.

The event will continue to provide attendees with more information on its website.

Licensing Expo usually attracts attendees from more than 70 countries and upwards of 16,000 people, including licensees, retailers and manufacturers. Countries and states have increasingly been banning large gatherings, including Oregon, California and New York. Nevada recently declared an emergency with the governor considering whether to ban large gatherings. This was supposed to be the Licensing Expo’s 40th anniversary.

This is the latest kids industry event to get moved from COVID-19: Animation Dingle 2020  was cancelled, and Cartoon Business rescheduled for December, Bologna Children’s Book Fair also moved its dates from March to May, and MIPTV in Cannes was postponed until 2021.
