eOne

Entertainment One has signed its first Australian broadcast deal for CG-animated preschool series Ricky Zoom. Free-to-air network Nine launched the action-comedy on July 11. Set in a world of bikes, the 52 x 11-minute show launched last year, and has already been picked up by Nick Jr. for the US and UK, CCTV (China), Clan TV (Spain), Discovery Kids (LatAm) and Gulli (France).

Genius Brands

California-based Genius Brands International has signed a deal with Archie Comics to launch comic books and graphic novels based on the Stan Lee Universe IPs. The first property to get a publication plan under the deal is Genius Brands’ animated preschool series Stan Lee’s Superhero Kindergarten. No release date for the first edition has been announced yet.

Superights

Broadcasters are giving Superprod/Animoka’s CG-animated series Pat the Dog a bone. New free-to-air broadcasters on board to run the five- to eight-skewing comedy include TG4 (Ireland), which picked up season one and season two (141 x seven minutes); as well as RTP (Poland), LTV (Latvia), VIU TV (Hong Kong) and RTI (Ivory Coast) for the first season (78 x seven minutes). Revolving around the fun adventures of a dog and his young owner, Pat was previously acquired by Televisa (Mexico), RTS (Switzerland) and VOD platform Mango TV (China).

Bejuba!

Canadian distributor Bejuba! has sold The Old Branch’s 2D-animated series The Grimes (pictured) to British free-to-air network ITV. The 15 x five-minute comedy follows the dirtiest family in the world, who always end up grimy no matter what they do. This is the first broadcast deal for the series, which The Old Branch originally launched on YouTube, where it has generated more than 20 million views, according to Bejuba!

ViacomCBS

ViacomCBS Networks Americas CP has teamed up with apparel retailer FILA on a new Rugrats collection for kids that includes footwear and shirts. The new products are now available in stores across Mexico.

Amazon Mexico has also been tapped as the exclusive distributor for a new La Bala-branded back-to-school line. Backpacks, lunchboxes and pencil cases featuring the Nickelodeon celeb will be available for purchase on the e-commerce site until July 20 as part of an exclusive window, before rolling out in a wider retail launch.
