Toronto-based prodco Portfolio Entertainment has inked more than a dozen new deals for its kids catalogue with US streamers and international broadcasters.
New series Hero Elementary, which premiered on PBS KIDS in June, was picked up by Discovery Kids (MENA), Minika (Turkey), YLE (Finland), KAN (Israel), Knowledge Network and TVO (Canada). Portfolio co-produced the 40 x 22-minute animated adventure series with Twin Cities PBS. Aimed at four- to seven-year-olds, it revolves around a group of super-powered kids who learn to master their abilities and save the day.
In the US, VOD platform EntourageTV and NCircle’s BusyBee TV streaming service acquired educational live-actioner Do You Know? (100 x 15 minutes), as well as animated series Doki (52 x 30 minutes) and Addison (50 x 11 minutes). Educational SVOD Epic! also added Do You Know? to its lineup.
Streamer UDU Digital and the American Forces Radio & Television Service acquired: Doki and Do You Know?; animated tween comedy Carl Squared (65 x 30 minutes); puppet-led preschool series Groundling Marsh (65 x 30 minutes) and Igloo-gloo (91 x 15 minutes); mixed-media educational series Mack & Moxy; and holiday special Something from Nothing (30 minutes).
China’s Tencent picked up Addison for its SVOD platform. And Hong Kong’s TVB and Russia’s CTC will respectively air the fourth and third seasons of Do You Know?
East Timor-based broadcaster GMN TV acquired all three seasons of The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About That! (80 x 30 minutes) and comedy Freaktown (26 x 30 minutes).
