CMC unveils new one-day virtual animation event

Topics for the November event will range from how to organize a virtual event schedule, to the ramifications of Brexit.

After moving its flagship event online this summer due to COVID-19, the Children’s Media Conference is widening its digital reach with Animation Business Conference 2020—a new one-day virtual event scheduled for November 12.

CMC is inviting animation producers, distributors and freelancers from around the world to participate in a day of webinars covering everything from broadcasters’ kids content needs and international co-pro deals, to Brexit implications and how to manage a growing virtual events schedule.

Registration costs US$116 (£90 including a £15 VAT fee) and gives delegates live access to every webinar, Q&A opportunities, bespoke VOD content and exclusive access to the recorded sessions for an additional 30 days.

There’s no word yet when the event’s full agenda and speaker lineup will be announced, but more information on how to register is available online.

Animation Business Conference will likely benefit from skills honed when CMC forced to pivot to a fully digital event in July. In the run-up, CMC rolled out weekly one-hour webinars via Zoom beginning in April and made more content available on YouTube.

Leading up to the new event in November, CMC is also making all content from the summer event available for free on its YouTube channel.
