ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS) has launched a new distribution division, establishing its leadership with the promotions of Lauren Marriott (pictured left) to SVP of sales and business operations, and Laura Burrell (pictured right) to VP of international formats.

ViacomCBS International Studios Distribution merges the company’s international program sales division, which previously handled tape and format sales for network-branded content—including the Nickelodeon library—outside of Latin America, with its sales division that previously focused on the studio’s original content.

Under the new structure, the distribution arm will cover all studio sales, including co-productions, presales, formats, tape sales and co-development initiatives.

In her new role, Marriott will head up distribution in the UK, working alongside ViacomCBS Media Networks in the US and ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI) brands to grow VIS’s sales and distribution business. She will oversee central business operations, including legal, operations, finance and marketing, as well as global content licensing revenues. Marriott joined ViacomCBS in 2008 and most recently served as VP of content sales.

Burrell, meanwhile, will take charge of the VCNI and VIS format libraries with the goal of bolstering revenue from third-party sales, co-productions and pre-sales. She will also oversee all scripted and non-scripted titles. Burrell has been with ViacomCBS since 2009, and was most recently global head of formats at Viacom International Media Networks.

The promotions come as VIS adds new kids content to its slate. Sharkdog is the studio’s first international series made for Netflix as part of a multi-year output deal signed by Nickelodeon and the SVOD this past November. VIS also inked a first-look deal with Santiago Segura, the director, writer and producer of top-grossing Spanish-language family comedy feature Father There Is Only One.
