ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI) has announced another round of appointments and promotions as the company continues to shift focus to its streaming business in advance of the launch of Paramount+ in 2021.
Doug Craig (pictured) joins the international streaming division’s leadership team as SVP of content strategy and acquisitions. Angela Heckman has been promoted to SVP of revenue and operations, and Marco Nobili moves up to SVP of marketing.
In his newly created role, Craig will lead content strategy, acquisitions, programming and operations for VCNI’s portfolio of international streaming services, which include Paramount+ and Nickelodeon SVOD Noggin. He joins the team from NBCUniversal, and previously worked at Roku and Discovery.
Heckman’s new position will see her lead global business operations and overall revenue growth for VCNI’s streaming portfolio. She has central oversight of new and existing channels, and will work closely with the ViacomCBS Digital team. She joined Viacom in 2011 and most recently served as SVP of digital partnerships.
Lastly, Nobili will oversee VCNI’s global marketing strategy and operations for streaming products and platforms. He joined VCNI earlier this year as head of emerging business in Latin America. Before that, he was in digital leadership roles at Netflix and Amazon.
These appointments follow yesterday’s announcement that Kelly Day will expand her responsibilities as COO of VCNI by taking over leadership of the division’s streaming business as president of streaming. ViacomCBS announced a new platform name and global expansion plans for Paramount+ in September. VIS will feed original content onto the SVOD in multiple territories.
Last year, Noggin acquired early childhood learning technology platform Sparkler and installed its co-founder Kristen Kane as EVP. Nickelodeon’s ad-free video subscription service then hired early learning expert Michael Levine to fill a newly created role as SVP of learning and impact to bolster Noggin’s efforts to expand its content and interactive features.
