Sutikki jumps on the robot train

A new animated series, short-form content and a revitalized CP program is on the way for Digital Dream Labs' Cozmos toy bot brand.

London-based Sutikki, the company behind Moon & Me, has inked a deal with kidtech company Digital Dream Labs (DDL) to develop and distribute an animated and live-action content based on DDL’s Cozmo and Vector robot brand.

Sutikki will produce an animated series called Cozmo and Friends, along with new short-form content starring the expressive little robot who learns new things everyday. It builds on a popular toy of the same name that originally launched in 2017. To kick off the content push, the companies launched a two-minute animated short on the brand’s YouTube channel about Cozmos getting over his fear of heights.

Sutikki also plans to revitalize the property with a global consumer products program. The companies are launching updated versions of the robot in new products hitting shelves next spring.

This partnership comes at a time when kids find themselves more connected to tech than ever before. Recent companies to hop on a burgeoning emotionally intelligent robot trend include: Apple TV+, which has lined up its new children’s series Doug Unplugs; and Mondo TV Iberoamérica and MB Produccione, which are producing Annie & Carola.

Sutikki has been busy shaking up its team to prep for growth lately. Earlier this month, the prodco tapped former eOne exec Hannah Mungo as its new CEO. And about a week later, the company unveiled that it had teamed up with marketing agency Kids Industries, licensing agency The Point.1888 and media strategy company Rock Hill Media Ventures to grow its presence and brands internationally.
