Former Allspark/Hasbro Studios and Turner exec Finn Arnesen has been hired by Games Workshop to head up entertainment development for the fantasy-focused tabletop and video game maker.

Reporting to EVP of global licensing Jon Gillard, Arnesen will initially be responsible for developing animated and live-action content based on the popular fantasy/sci-fi universe of Warhammer. He started in his new role last month and is still based in London.

Arnesen will have the company’s full array of Warhammer tabletop games, video games, comics, novels and short stories to tap into. Games Workshop’s in-house animation team already has three animated series near completion, and another six in development. Early partnership discussions are already happening with a number of production companies and scriptwriters around the world.

Games Workshop is also collaborating with Frank Spotnitz’s Big Light Productions on a live-action drama based on Warhammer’s popular Eisenhorn novel series.

Arnesen left Allspark in 2019 after spending more than nine years at the studio arm of US toyco Hasbro, most recently in an SVP of global distribution and development role. And before that, he worked at Turner (now WarnerMedia) for 16 years as GM of original series and international development.
