Netflix is working with Amy Poehler’s Paper Kite Productions on a new animated musical comedy film called Steps.

Featuring stories and music from Riki Lindhome (Another Period) and Kate Micucci (Garfunkel & Oates), this new take on the classic Cinderella tale centers around the stepsisters, who embark on an epic journey after being overlooked by the prince.

Steps will be produced by Amy Poehler and Kim Lessing for Paper Kite, as well as Jane Hartwell (The Croods). Directing is first-time feature director Alcye Tzue (pictured), who won a Student Academy Award for short film Soar.

Earlier this year, Netflix announced plans to release six animated films a year. It also currently has The Witch Boy (based on a graphic novel series and directed by Minkyu Lee) and an adaptation of the Redwall books in the works.
