Disney Branded Television has promoted Lauren Kisilevsky to SVP of original movies and expanded her remit to include developing and overseeing production on a growing slate of new movies for Disney Channels and Disney+.
Kisilevsky joined Disney Channels in 2010 as VP of original movies, mainly overseeing films for the linear channels, including the Descendants and Zombies franchises.
She has more recently worked on movies such as Secret Society of Second Born Royals and Sneakerella for Disney +. This shift intensified when Disney amalgamated its linear and SVOD teams under the Disney Branded Television division, which now produces content for all of the company’s media platforms.
Disney Branded Television has made several key hires since its inception, including bringing in Kisilevsky’s new boss Ayo Davis as EVP of creative development and strategy at the end of last year. Gary Marsh, former president of Disney Channels, now heads up Disney Branded Television as president and CCO.
Prior to joining Disney 11 years ago, Kisilevsky served as VP of production and acquisitions at Overture Films and VP of development for Type A Films (Penelope).
