ZAG is expanding its executive team with the appointment of Christophe Vallade (pictured) as VP of global e-commerce.

Vallade started in the role this week, and is responsible for online growth and brand positioning for the LA-based animation studio’s licensed products. He joins ZAG from The Walt Disney Company in France, where he most recently served as head of e-commerce and retail digital marketing.

ZAG also hired Ben Johnson as SVP of legal and litigation. Johnson will be responsible for all legal matters, including management and protection of the company’s global trademark portfolio, as well as anti-counterfeiting measures. Prior to joining ZAG, Johnson was VP, head of litigation at MGA Entertainment.

These hires come as new content is expected to drive demand for consumer products. In addition to the TV special Miraculous World: Shanghai – The Legend of Lady Dragon, the fourth season of Miraculous – Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir will launch this summer, and the feature film Miraculous Ladybug and Cat Noir ‘The Awakening’ is set to hit theaters later this year.

Vallade and Johnson join the ZAG team shortly after several other hires. Former Viacom exec Angela Cortez was named VP of consumer products for Latin America; Sarah Boyer was appointed VP of retail for North America; Mattel alum Lisa Foster was hired as VP of licensing for North America; and the company launched ZAG Games & Interactive Experiences with Elinor Schops as VP of the new division.
