New York-based distributor and AVOD network FilmRise has hired former ViacomCBS senior director Jonitha Keymoore as its new senior director of global acquisitions.

Reporting to FilmRise’s SVP of acquisitions and co-productions Max Einhorn, Keymoore will manage international film and TV acquisitions to grow the company’s licensing and distribution business, and build its network of AVOD streaming services. She started April 12, and is succeeding Whitney Muroff, the company’s first senior director of global acquisitions, who left the company in February to join Discovery+’s acquisitions team, according to a FilmRise spokesperson.

No stranger to acquisitions, Keymoore previously worked as ViacomCBS’ senior director of content acquisitions, where she licensed content from the likes of Sony, Disney and MGM for Paramount+, Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. Prior to that, she was Konami Cross Media NY’s director of distribution, where she handled Yu-Gi-Oh!

FilmRise has a catalogue of more than 40,000 film and TV titles that it distributes to third-party streaming platforms, as well as its own network of VOD and free digital linear channel. The company has been building a presence in the kids business this year, bringing YouTubers like MrBeast and Preston to streaming and broadcast platforms, and partnering with Nelvana to distribute its content to SVODs and AVODs in the US and Europe.

Keymoore is the most recent staffing change at the company, following the January promotion of head of sales Melissa Wohl to SVP and head of sales.
