Philippines-based service studio Snipple Animation has inked a deal with Disney Television Animation to animate the new Disney+ series, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder (pictured).

In production now and set for a 2022 premiere on the streamer, this 2D-animated show will continue the comedy-led stories that underpinned The Proud Family’s original 2001-2005 run. Louder and Prouder was first announced in November 2019.

Original EPs Bruce Smith (The Princess and the Frog) and Ralph Farquhar (Moesha) are back to executive produce the reboot, with a creative exec team that includes Calvin Brown Jr. (Moesha) as co-EP and story editor, Jan Hirota (Big Hero 6 The Series) as producer, and Eastwood Wong (Carmen Sandiego) as art director.

Snipple has previously animated Klaus for Netflix and Phineas and Ferb for Disney Channel, and it’s also currently working on DreamWorks Animation’s The Mighty Ones. In January, the 10-year-old company secured roughly US$8 million in funding from investor BGF to launch an original content division and develop its own IPs.
