ViacomCBS’s studio division has signed a development deal with Argentinian cartoonist Ricardo Liniers Siri (pictured), who will adapt his three-book series Flores Salvajes for TV and work on several other projects for VIS.
Flores Salvajes tells the story of three sisters who explore a mysterious and magical island where flowers can talk. It’s inspired by a picture Liniers took of his three daughters in the jungle of Yucatan, Mexico.
VIS Kids launched in late 2020 and has plans to develop more than 30 new shows over the next three years. ViacomCBS Networks International also recently announced the launch of an Elevating Diverse Creators program to identify creators in Latin America, allocating 25% of the VIS budget to support the development of projects by BIPOC creators in the region.
To that end, VIS has already lined up a new series called Marcelo, Marmelo, Martelo from a Brazilian creator, as well as musical series Funknautas.
