In a first for the toyco, LEGO Group is gearing up to host LEGO CON as a live-streamed virtual convention for kids on June 26.
The two-hour show will feature people building their own LEGO creations, interviews with designers and an inside look at the LEGO House (pictured)—a space for kids at the company’s Denmark HQ that boasts a museum, multiple play areas and a gift shop.
Viewers can watch the free event live or on-demand after the fact on the company’s website. Throughout the mini-convention, there will be opportunities for viewers to vote on their favorite creations, share their own builds, and connect with other fans. LEGO will also use the livestream to share news and show off product lines such as LEGO Super Mario, LEGO Minecraft and the new LEGO Vidiyo music app.
The toyco has been very busy inking deals and rolling out new content in recent months, including a new Ninja Vlogs animated interactive series. But with the pandemic limiting toy fairs and in-person events, LEGO had fewer opportunities to show off its products, which was the impetus for planning this new virtual convention.
