Common Sense Networks has picked up 19 new animated and live-action shows for its children’s OTT platform Sensical, which launches today.
The network has secured content from several North American partners, including The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss and Jim Henson’s Animal Show with Stinky and Jake from The Jim Henson Company; Thomas & Friends, Kipper, Pingu and Max Steel from Mattel; and Teletubbies and Rev & Roll from WildBrain.
On the European front, Sensical acquired Poppy Cat (CAKE), Leo The Wildlife Ranger (Cyber Group Studios), Apple Tree House (Raydar Media), Bo Bear and Handico (Superights), Learn and Play with Paprika and Moka’s Fabulous Adventures (Xilam Animation), Lexi & Lottie and School of Roars (ZDF Enterprises) and Mister Maker and Tee and Mo (Zodiak Kids).
The OTT platform has also signed content partnerships with digital-first creators ABCMouse, Aaron’s Animals, Alphabet Rockers, batteryPOP, California Academy of Sciences, GoldieBlox, The Gotham Group’s Gotham Reads, Guggenheim Museum, Howdytoons, Kids’ Black History, MEL Science + Chemistry, N*Gen, Pinkfong, Penguin Random House’s Brightly Storytime, Studio71 (Parry Gripp, Maymo, Hyper Roblox), Tankee, Ubongo Kids and Vooks. Content from these partnerships is expected to hit the platform in six to eight weeks.
Featuring programming for two- to 10-year-olds, Sensical is launching with more than 15,000 short-form videos and 50-plus topic-based channels. It’s currently available via iOS and Android devices, the Roku platform, Amazon Fire TV and Apple TV. Content acquired in previously announced deals— including Bakugan, Operation Ouch, Cloudbabies and Kitty is Not a Cat—will be available at launch.
