Netflix has expanded the remits of two of its movie execs to bolster family viewing and help the SVOD meet its ambitious goal for movie releases this year.

Original studio film VPs Ori Marmur (pictured left) and Kira Goldberg (pictured right) are now responsible for leading a new team that will develop and produce four-quadrant movies for all ages, as well as big-budget commercial features. They will also be looking to hire more film executives as the streamer ramps up its movie output. Netflix has 70-plus releases planned for this year—which is more than one a week.

Netflix had not announced new titles for Marmur and Goldberg at press time, but they will now be overseen by Scott Stuber, head of global films. They both previously reported to Tendo Nagenda, who runs a separate film unit responsible for upcoming commercial films such as sci-fi adventure Escape from Spiderhead and Knives Out 2. The trio will continue to work closely together.

In terms of their family content experience, Marmur and Goldberg worked together on Netflix’s family-friendly movie Yes Day starring Jennifer Garner and Edgar Ramirez.

Prior to joining Netflix, Goldberg served as EVP of production at Fox and DreamWorks, and Marmur was a producer for Neal Moritz’s Original Film.
