Canadian prodco Epic Story Media has partnered with Florida-based experiential entertainment company Falcon’s Beyond Global to build a 360-degree brand plan for its Katmandu IP. The companies will collaborate to launch animated films, TV series, consumer products and gaming offerings.
Katmandu currently exists as a standalone adventure park and resort in Spain, as well as a branded kids camp program running through the Meliá hotel chain worldwide.
Epic will bring new and fan-favorite characters from the park to life through content and consumer products, focusing on Katmandu’s action-adventure/mythical quest elements. Falcon’s Beyond has also recruited writer and showrunner Sean Jara (Mysticons) to support the content development effort.
In addition to more traditional distribution to broadcasters and digital platforms, the TV & film content will be also be showcased in Falcon’s parks and themed kids camps.
Epic has been partnering with a lot of brands recently, teaming up with Outfit7 earlier this month to co-develop the CG-animated series Talking Tom Heroes: Suddenly Super. And in March, the studio announced it would co-produce a new short-form series called Piper’s Pony Tales with Milkcow Media. This preschool show is now available on YouTube, and Breyer Horses has signed on as a master toy partner in North America and LatAm.
