Disney Channel is heading back to Dino Ranch with a second season (52 x 11 minutes) of Boat Rocker’s animated preschool adventure. Season two of the CG-animated show will premiere on Disney Junior and Disney+ in the US and LatAm in 2022. The series follows a group of kids who care for dinos on their farm. Created by Matt Fernandes, Industrial Brothers and Boat Rocker Studios produce Dino Ranch in association with Canadian pubcaster CBC Kids and its French-language equivalent Radio-Canada. Boat Rocker-owned Jam Filled Entertainment is animating the new season. The first batch of episodes premiered in January on CBC.

CBC, meanwhile, has renewed LoCo Motion Pictures’ Detention Adventure for a third season for its Gem streaming service. Co-created by Joe Kicak and Carmen Albano, the new 10 x 10-minute season of the live-action series revolves around tweens who work together to discover the secret of a painting at a mysterious camp. The series first launched in 2019 as CBC’s first original kids scripted series on the streaming platform. Blue Ant International picked up worldwide distribution rights (outside of Canada) for the new season in July.

PBS KIDS has ordered a fourth and fifth season of Spiffy Pictures’ preschool-skewing Nature Cat (pictured). The two new seasons, which together total 20 x 30-minutes, will premiere in 2022. PBS KIDS has also ordered two one-hour movie specials. Created and executive produced by brothers Adam and David Rudman, Nature Cat is about Fred, a house cat who dreams of exploring the outdoors.

Nickelodeon is diving into more Baby Shark’s Big Show! with a second 26 x half-hour season. The preschool comedy is about a young shark and his friends who go on wild adventures. Produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio, Gary DiRaffaele (Breadwinners) and Tommy Sica are executive producers, while Whitney Ralls is co-EP. No premiere date for the new episodes has been announced yet. Last month, Nickelodeon also announced it is producing a Baby Shark animated movie, which it will co-produce with IP owner SmartStudy.

ABC Australia has greenlit a fourth season (13 x 30 minutes) of The Deep produced by A. Stark Production, WildBrain and Infinite Studios. Singapore-based Infinite Studios’ has replaced Parisian studio Technicolor as a producer on the fourth season. CBBC (UK), WildBrain’s Family Channel (Canada), Super RTL (Germany) and SVT (Sweden) have all already pre-bought the latest episodes.
