Blue Zoo and Plug-In Media are joining forces to open a new studio that will focus on producing short-form, long-form and interactive content for children.

Based in Brighton, this hub will have a hybrid model that combines remote and in-studio work. Blue Zoo’s staff has doubled in the last year, and it’s currently working remotely on seven productions.

The first project to run through the Brighton pipeline will be a 2D-animated preschool show commissioned by a major public broadcaster. Production on this 52-episode action-comedy series is set to begin later this summer, and recruiting is currently underway. There was no other information available at press time.

Blue Zoo recently partnered with YouTube Originals for its forest and folklore animated series Millie and Lou. And Plug-In Media made two 10-minute Tee and Mo musical specials for the BBC last year.
