Amazon-owned audio house Wondery has picked up two new podcast series from Tinkercast, as well as its back-catalogue of content.

Starting in September, Wondery will have exclusive distribution, merchandise and ad sales rights to Tinkercast’s two upcoming podcasts Who, When, Wow! and Flip and Mozi’s Guide to How to be an Earthling until 2023.

Who, When, Wow! follows host Rebecca Sheir (Circle Round) as she teaches kids about unsung historical figures who did exciting things. Flip and Mozi, meanwhile, is a comedy about two aliens who have to learn how to be like humans after they crash-land on Earth. Both shows are scheduled to launch this year, though format details and exact release dates were unavailable at press time.

Also part of the deal, Wondery acquired exclusive window and merchandising rights for Tinkercast’s portfolio of existing content, including Wow in the World (pictured), Two Whats and a Wow and Camp WeWowWondery and Amazon Music will run the new Tinkercast episodes exclusively for one week before they launch on other podcast platforms.

Outside of audio content, Amazon Music is also planning to expand Tinkercast’s IPs in the consumer products space through Amazon’s e-commerce website and Alexa. No product details were available at press time.

UTA brokered the deal between the two companies.

Earlier this week, Wondery announced that former Warner Bros. exec Nicole Blake would lead efforts to broaden its kids reach with new content and formats.
