Pocket.watch has appointed former AT&T/WarnerMedia executive Xavier Kochhar as its first-ever COO and CFO.

Kochhar started in his role yesterday and is responsible for overseeing pocket.watch’s next phase of operational growth, corporate strategy and M&A activity. He will oversee all of the company’s major business units, which include direct-to-consumer, content sales and distribution, advertising, consumer products, gaming and creator partnerships. Kochhar is also heading up the corporate development, strategy and finance teams. He reports to CEO Chris Williams, who previously fulfilled those duties.

Prior to joining pocket.watch, Kochhar held a series of executive positions at AT&T and then its WarnerMedia subsidiary. Most recently, he oversaw corporate strategy and M&A activity as chief of strategy and business development for HBO Max. Earlier in his career, he worked in strategy roles at Hulu and Disney.

Kochhar also founded Video Genome Project, a video personalization engine company that built a database of video content metadata. It was acquired by Hulu in 2016.
