Disney Branded TV hires head of current series

Former 20th Television VP Gloria Fan is moving into the newly created role to super-serve kids and family output.
October 19, 2021

Disney Branded Television has recruited Gloria Fan to be its first-ever head of current series. The former VP of current programming for 20th Television will now oversee all original series for Disney Channel and Disney+.

Shows on her slate for the linear channel include Sulphur Springs, Raven’s Home (which was just renewed for fifth season) and the recently announced Ultraviolet & Black Scorpion (previously titled Ultra Violet & Blue Demon). And High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and upcoming film Sneakerella are lined up next for Disney+.

Fan will report to Reena Singh, SVP of development and current series for Disney Branded TV, which was just created at the end of 2020 as part of Disney’s restructuring to focus on streaming and separate content from the channels. At the time, Gary Marsh was appointed to lead the division. But he has since stepped down, and Ayo Davis has been promoted to president instead.

Before joining Fox 21 Television Studios in 2015, Fan served in executive positions at CBS, Mosaic Productions and Atlas Entertainment.
