Moonbug Entertainment and YouTube Originals are putting a festive spin on the Go Buster series with a new holiday special.

Buster Saves Christmas follows along as the IP’s young yellow bus journeys to the North Pole to help an injured Santa deliver presents. The 45-minute special for preschoolers dropped today, and is available exclusively on the Go Buster YouTube channel (1.83 million subscribers). Craig Hunter, global head of preschool at YouTube Originals, served as the project’s creative lead; its script was written by Ann Austen (Barbie Princess Adventure), and Moonbug handled production.

The special is a spinoff of the prodco’s digital series Go Buster, in which Buster and his friends explore new places, and learn how to face their fears and work with others. A dedicated channel launched on YouTube in 2018 and has since amassed more than 900 million views. The show has also drawn attention from linear channels including the UK’s  Tiny Pop and BBC, which have both picked it up in the past year.

This is just the latest new content announcement from London-based Moonbug, which was acquired by former Disney execs Kevin Mayer and Tom Staggs earlier this month. Last week, YouTube Originals ordered the prodco’s soccer-focused animated series Supa Strikas: Rookie Season to launch in December. And this summer, Netflix picked up a package of specials and series based on its popular CoComelon brand for 2022.
