Common Sense Networks’ OTT platform Sensical has picked up its first slate of podcasts. Launching on December 13, its new audio content targets kids ages two to 10 and includes shows focused on trivia, storytelling and history.
Featured in the lineup is Rhea Pechter’s Little Stories for Tiny People; Chanel Tsang’s Peace Out; Pinna’s 5 for 5 Trivia, Don’t Break the Rules, Kyle’s Wild World, Quentin and Alfie’s ABC Adventures, The Totally Unauthorized Minecraft Fan Show and Grimm, Grimmer, Grimmest; Melissa Victor’s Stoopkid Stories; Mick Sullivan’s The Past and the Curious; What if World; Tumble: Science Podcast for Kids; and select episodes of the Rebel Girls’ Good Night Stories.
Sensical is following in the footsteps of Disney, Nickelodeon, Warner Bros. and The Jim Henson Company as it moves into the audio market, which was valued at US$11.5 billion last year by Grand View Research, and is expected to hit US$15 billion by 2028.
Expanding its TV content offering as well, Sensical has licensed programming from new partners including Hasbro and Entertainment One (Ricky Zoom, Chomp Squad, Pound Puppies, The Adventures of Chuck and Friends), Sinking Ship Entertainment (Chirp, Giver, My Home My Life, What’s Inside) and Splash Entertainment (Chloe’s Closet, Dive Olly Dive, The DaVincibles, Jing-Ju Cats, Oh Yuck!, I Got a Rocket!, Gasp).
And the OTT platform also announced that its full lineup is now available on VIZIO’s free streaming service WatchFree+, which runs channels targeting kids ages two to four, five to seven and eight to 10.
Sensical launched in June and currently features more than 15,000 videos running on roughly 60 topic-based channels. It’s available on iOS/Android devices, as well as Roku, Amazon Fire TV and Apple TV.
