Multiplatform content company Skybound Entertainment has brought in industry vet Marge Dean (pictured) to helm its burgeoning LA-based animation studio.

In her new role, Dean will oversee production of Skybound Animation’s slate of new original animated content, which includes seasons two and three of Amazon Studios’ popular adult superhero series Invincible.

Additionally, she will lead development and the overall creative vision of the studio, and taking an executive producer role on Invincible. Her presence is also expected to attract more top animation talent to the studio, said Skybound Entertainment CEO David Alpert in a statement.

Skybound hasn’t disclosed any new kids and family projects in development, but it previously produced children’s adventure series Super Dinosaur alongside Toronto-based toy and entertainment company Spin Master.

Dean most recently served as studio head at anime-focused SVOD Crunchyroll. Prior to this, she was GM at stop-motion studio Stoopid Buddy Stoodios (Buddy Thunderstruck), and previously worked with the likes of Mattel, WildBrain and Warner Bros. Animation.

She also currently serves as the president of non-profit Women in Animation.
