The BBC’s new art-focused competition series Britain’s Best Young Artist (14 x 30 minutes) will launch on its free-to-air kids channel CBBC in February.

Starting on February 7, 27 kids from across the UK will compete for a chance to be crowned as the best young visual artist in the country. Radio 1 presenter Vick Hope (pictured, right) and indie musician Ricky Wilson (pictured, left) will host the competition series, which will see contestants create brand-new art to impress Wilson and a rotating guest judge.

Produced by BBC Children’s in-house team, the unscripted live-action series for older children will run Monday to Thursday on CBBC and BBC iPlayer.

Annette Williams serves as executive producer, with Rob Jenkinson on board as series producer.
