On April 22, Disney+ will exclusively premiere three new specials to celebrate Earth Day.

The streamer is heading north with Disneynature’s Polar Bear (pictured). Catherine Keener (Get Out) narrates this story of a new polar bear mother who draws on memories of her childhood to navigate the challenges of a changing climate. Alastair Fothergill and Jeff Wilson (Penguins) will direct.

Disney+ also ordered National Geographic’s Explorer: The Last Tepui, a one-hour special that follows elite climber Alex Honnold (Free Solo) and Nat Geo’s Mark Synnott as they lead a team up a 1,000-foot cliff deep in the Amazon jungle.

Also from National Geographic is The Biggest Little Farm: The Return, which sees John and Molly Chester continue to transform their land into a working farm. It picks up from 2018’s award-winning feature doc The Biggest Little Farm, in which the Chesters leave their urban life in Los Angeles behind to live on a barren farm in Ventura County.

In other Disney+ news, the streamer has also announced plans for a new TV series based on holiday movie franchise The Santa Clause. Tim Allen, star of the original films, will executive produce this new limited series and reprise his role as Scott Calvin. While a release date hadn’t been confirmed at press time, production will begin in March.
