Chinese animation studio Alpha Group has hired former Crunchyroll licensing and retail manager Minh-Vi Phan to develop and launch a global licensing strategy for its portfolio of brands.

In her new role as international senior licensing manager, Phan will oversee consumer products programs for Alpha Group kids shows such as Super Wings, Petronix and Legends of Sparks.

Prior to joining the company in January, Phan worked at anime SVOD Crunchyroll, where she developed relationships with retailers and managed licensing for popular brands such as My Hero Academia and Death Note. And before that, she worked in marketing at Disney Hachette Presse and as a licensing and marketing assistant at Studio 100 Animation.

Alpha Group is building up its licensing infrastructure in order to capitalize on the content success of Super Wings. Dozens of broadcasters have already picked up the preschool series, including Cartoonito (UK), Universal Kids (US) and Netflix. The company has also been expanding its pipeline lately with new projects including Camp Furly, a co-pro with PAW Patrol creator Keith Chapman and UK-based Studio Liddell.
