PlayMonster

BBC Studios has signed a pair of new licensing agreements that will see Bluey featured on products in Hasbro’s Spirograph and 9 Story Media Group’s Colorforms lines. PlayMonster brokered the deals, which cover Colorforms travel sets and boxed playsets and a branded Spirograph, stickers and backpack clips. Products featuring the popular blue heeler pup will hit shelves in North America this quarter. Australia’s Ludo Studio produces Bluey, which BBC Studios and ABC Australia co-commissioned.

Hasbro

Hasbro Gaming has partnered with Hong-Kong-based manufacturer WowWee on a new summer range of Nerf Super Soaker ride-on inflatables and a target that shoots water.

Wowee is also working on a spring 2022 line of water play and super-sized game boards that will include three new splash-game versions of Hasbro’s Twister, Operation and Crocodile Dentist.

Ground Up

The New York-based footwear company has teamed up with ViacomCBS Consumer Products to produce a new range of kids athletic shoes based on preschool series PAW Patrol. The collection, which is available online and in select Saks Fifth Avenue locations, includes boys and girls high-top sneakers and lowcut slip-ons in toddler sizes, featuring pups Chase, Marshall, Rocky, Rubble and Zuma.

Guru

The Canadian animation studio has appointed Rai Com to oversee licensing and merchandising for its newest preschool series Pikwik Pack (pictured) in Italy. The deal covers apparel, publishing, accessories and games, and Rai Com will also handle domestic TV and digital media distribution.

Pikwik Pack started airing on Rai Yoyo in the region this month. And it’s also currently streaming on Treehouse (Canada), Hulu (US), Tiny Pop (UK) and Disney+ (Australia and New Zealand).

Sesame Workshop

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment and the Sesame Workshop are teaming up to launch a brand-new 17-acre theme park called Sesame Place San Diego. This is the second Sesame Place location to open, following a first park that’s been operating in Langhorne, Pennsylvania since 1980. Opening day is Saturday, March 26, and the park will operate year-round. Its rides and attractions include an interactive Sesame Street Neighborhood installation featuring the iconic 123 Stoop, daily live character shows and Sesame Street-themed parades.
