Hasbro-owned eOne has hired former Warner Bros. and Acamar exec Ruedilyn Cox as VP of global franchise strategy and management for its upcoming series Kiya.
Cox, who started in January and is based in London, will manage long-term franchise and content strategy for the preschool-skewing brand globally. Kiya (52 x 11 minutes) is set to debut on Disney Jr. (US), Disney+ (globally) and France Télévisions in 2023. The show revolves around a group of young kids who become superheroes with the help of a magical headband.
Cox will collaborate with toy, content sales, digital gaming and social media teams at both Hasbro and eOne as she works on expanding the IP’s business. She reports to Esra Cafer, eOne’s SVP of global brand management.
Cox previously worked as head of marketing at Acamar Films, managing franchise development and marketing for the London-based prodco’s flagship brand Bing. Before that, she was a senior global brand and marketing manager for the Harry Potter franchise at Warner Bros.
This is the second time in recent months that eOne has centralized the brand strategy for one of its big franchises under the purview of one executive. Cox’s hire comes on the heels of former NBCUniversal and WarnerMedia marketing director Robin Gay being recruited in December to head up global franchise strategy for Peppa Pig.
