Susan Vargo has left Nickelodeon to join Moonbug Entertainment as its first head of live events. In this newly created role, she will manage and expand the live event business of Moonbug IPs including Blippi, CoComelon and Little Baby Bum.
Vargo joined the company on January 17, and will be based in its UK head office. Her remit covers live shows, character events and brand-related experiences such as theme parks and water parks.
Vargo was previously a VP of global live entertainment for Nickelodeon, where she oversaw stage adaptations, resort entertainment and theme parks. Before that role, she served as an executive producer of live theatrical events, and was responsible for strategic expansion in that area of Nick’s business.
Moonbug recently acquired Little Angel, a growing YouTube network with more than 90 million subscribers worldwide. It represents the company’s first M&A move since it was acquired by Candle Media in November.
