The Jim Henson Company is betting on familiarity with the hire of experienced sales exec Kerry Novick as its new VP of global distribution.
Novick’s relationship with Henson stretches back to her time as president of Small Screen Distribution, the company she founded in 2004. At Small Screen, she handled sales in Asia for Henson properties Sid the Science Kid and Dinosaur Train.
Back in the fold again, Novick will work on building partnerships to co-produce and co-finance new film and TV projects. She’ll also oversee the distribution of titles such as Sid the Science Kid, Farscape, Word Party and Splash and Bubbles. Novick reports directly to Chris Lytton, who was promoted to COO and president last May. And she replaces Anna Moorefield, who left to join NBCUniversal as director of acquisitions in December.
Most recently, Novick served as SVP of global sales and co-productions for Singapore’s Sparky Animation. And she spent almost five years as SVP of global business development at kids entertainment and licensing company Kidtagious Entertainment before that.
