Powerhouse kids TV creator Keith Chapman has signed a long-term partnership with London-based Snipple Originals to produce new content for the upper-preschool audience.
Chapman is behind some of kids TV’s biggest brands of the past decade, such as Bob the Builder and PAW Patrol. And Snipple Originals is the new content arm of Snipple Animation in the Philippines, which has provided animation services to more than 50 titles over the past 11 years, including long-running series such as Ducktales and Phineas and Ferb.
The first project in development under the new agreement is 2D-animated series Paco & the Pirate League (working title), about a 10-year-old boy who lives on the The Golden Boot pirate ship and travels the world playing soccer against other sea-faring teams. The show will be ready for pitching in October.
Snipple Originals launched in 2020 with around US$8 million in funding from investment firm Business Growth Fund. It’s headed up by experienced producer Karina Stanford-Smith, who’s installed in a director of animation development role.
