Kids Street, a US pay-TV channel for Latino market viewers ages three to seven, has acquired seven new preschool shows in the midst of significant distribution growth.
Making linear-exclusive US premieres on the kidsnet are The Fox Badger Family (pictured), Chocolix, Yakari, Superprod’s Helen’s Little School and WildBrain titles Polly Pocket, Rainbow Ruby and Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City.
Owned by Miami-based cable-TV programming aggregator Condista Networks, Kids Street it gives its preschool audience the option of viewing any title from its catalogue in either English or Spanish, and its lineup already includes Bob the Builder, Heidi, Maya the Bee, Atchoo and Earth to Luna (these last two titles have new seasons launching soon).
The channel also runs a late-night block called Family Central Explorer, which targets older kids with documentary films and series like The Living Sea, Island of the Penguins, Returning to Chernobyl and Black Holes: Messages from the Edge of the Universe).
Kids Street’s distribution has nearly doubled this month, in the wake of moving into Comcast’s digital starter package for new subscribers, according to a press release from Condista. But the channel is also available on Spectrum, Optimum, Evoca, Vidgo, Intermountain Cable, Rodeo TV, Suddenlink and Fidelity.
