Indie game developer Sonar Studios has licensed its portfolio of IPs featured on the Roblox gaming platform to LA-based marketing agency Striker Entertainment.
Striker will rep all of Sonar’s Roblox titles for the 10 to 12 set, including Dragon Adventures and Creatures of Sonaria, in categories including toys and collectibles, lifestyle products, publishing and TV/film.
“Youth engagement on Roblox is undeniable,” says Russell Binder, Striker’s founding partner. “The content is engaging and social, and as the platform and those developing on it continue to mature, this will positively influence creativity and original IP development. Next to YouTube, I don’t think there’s a more concentrated destination of this highly desirable demographic anywhere else, including streamers, networks and other kids platforms.”
Sonar is the second indie Roblox game developer to partner with Striker, which signed a similar deal with The Gang Sweden in March. (The Stockholm-based studio’s Strongman Simulator is one of the most-played games on Roblox.).
Sonar’s flagship role-playing games Dragon Adventures and Creatures of Sonaria have collectively racked up 600 million unique game sessions and 2.2 million favorites on Roblox, as well as gathering a community of more than 1.5 million members. Located in Las Vegas, the studio opened its doors in 2019 and is currently developing a new Roblox role-playing title called Winds of Fortune that will release later this year.
