New York’s Canela Media is expanding its portfolio of streaming platforms with the launch of a new Spanish-language AVOD for children ages two to 12.
Canela Kids will launch in the US on August 16 with more than 1,500 hours of content, including modern and classic series like CoComelon, Love, Diana Princess of Play, Ryan’s World (pictured), Barney and Garfield.
The service will also feature a few original programming highlights, such as an interactive music show where parents can send in videos of their children dancing to their favorite songs, and a documentary series focusing on female Hispanic cultural icons.
The untitled doc series will debut during Hispanic Heritage month on September 15 and is being produced by Upstairs Miami.
A companion Canela Kids mobile app will launch simultaneously with the AVOD platform, which joins Canela.TV and Canela Music in the company’s ad-supported streaming portfolio.
