Chinese streamer Tencent Video has put in an order for Banijay-owned Zodiak Kids & Family’s new CG-animated action-comedy Shasha & Milo, a co-pro with South Korea’s Pingo Entertainment.
Production is currently underway on the 26 x 22-minute series, which is about 12-year-old twins who have the ability to transform into human beings, cats or a formidable hybrid of the two. They must fight off dark forces to protect Crescent Island, while also facing the usual challenges and complexities of everyday preteen life.
Banijay’s Benoît di Sabatino and Gary Milne and Pingo’s Hee Seok Shin are attached to the project as EPs, and creative producer Seul Gee Yoo is co-directing with Hyeong Min Kim.
Although its release date hasn’t been set yet, Shasha & Milo will eventually join recent additions such as Silvergate’s The Creature Cases (22 x 11 minutes) and ZAG’s Power Players (79 x 11 minutes) in Tencent’s lineup. The streamer also commissioned UYoung’s Kung Fu Wa! (52 x 11 minutes) last month and Rainbow Bubblegem (52 x 11 minutes) from Live Fun and Campfire Aniworks in 2021.
