Planet Ankama has acquired international distribution rights to preschool series Cricket Pang from Seoul-based You Need Character.

The French distributor will sell the 2D-animated show in Europe, the US, Canada, MENA, Australia and New Zealand.

Cricket Pang is a sport-driven adventure series in which Pang the elephant and his four friends play cricket in their small forest village. Each episode sees the cast of characters working together to resolve conflicts in creative ways through problem-solving, cooperation and communication.

The show’s first season (26 x 11 minutes) premiered in January 2021 on South Korean linear channels MBC, KT and Watchaa. Season two is in production now and on track to wrap this summer.

Cricket Pang is also available on AVOD platforms including Tencent Cloud (China) and Kidoodle.TV (Canada).

Planet Ankama’s kids content library already includes animated fantasy series Abraca and Wakfu. And the company also picked up rights to Mediacorp’s CG-animated series Lil Wild (42 x 10 minutes) in March.
