Paris-based distributor PGS Entertainment has inked a deal to represent its first YouTube channel brand, LooLoo Kids (49.4 million subscribers).
LooLoo Kids is owned and operated by a Romanian media company called Mora TV, and the channel’s videos feature nursery rhymes, songs and games for preschoolers. The English-language version alone has generated more than 28 billion views.
Mora TV has already produced a five x 20-minute series called LooLoo Kids: Johny & Friends Musical Adventures, which premiered non-exclusively on Netflix in 2016. The prodco has also launched a LooLoo Kids Nursery Rhymes channel on Roku, and published several songs on Spotify. “Johny Johny Yes Papa” alone has racked up more than six million listens on the music platform.
Earlier this month, PGS hired former Globosat kids exec Paula Taborda dos Guaranys as EVP of acquisitions and development. And in April, it locked in new broadcast deals for Technicolor Animation Productions’ Gus, The Itsy Bitsy Knight with channels such as Tiny Pop (UK), Canal Panda (Portugal) and UYoung (China).
