Netflix is hitting the road with some of its most popular kids show characters in a summer mobile tour across the US.
The Netflix Family Summer brand activation will feature experiences based on popular Netflix kids series such as new launch Sharkdog (ViacomCBS International Studios) and Gabby’s Dollhouse (DreamWorks Animation).
At stops in parks and parking lots from Long Beach to Boston, the food-truck-style vehicle will engage fans with giveaways, character meet-and-greets and photo experiences. The tour kicked off on July 9 and continues until August 28.
This is the first time the SVOD has brought its children’s content into the experiential space by way of an activity truck, and it’s a tactic that has a bit of momentum right now, with outdoor activities remaining popular in light of COVID’s slow retreat. Podcaster Tinkercast did the same kind of thing this spring, visiting seven US cities in a renovated ice cream truck that it converted into a mini-museum of science and exploration.
